Dr. Richard Bayley
The Seton Children Willian Seton, Sr.

Elizabeth and William Seton's Children
Elizabeth and William Seton had five children: Anna Maria, Richard, William, Catherine Josephine, and Rebecca

Anna, or Annina, accompanied her parents to Italy. She died as a novice in the Sisters of Charity at 17 years old.

Richard and William, through the generosity of Antonio Filicchi, attended Georgetown and then Mount St. Mary's in Emmitsburg. As young men they proved a challenge to their mother's patience. Both refused a career offered by the Filicchis and both entered the Navy. Richard died when he was 25 years old. William married and had seven children of whom one became Archbishop Robert Seton and one, Helen, a Sister of Mercy.

Catherine Josephine became a Sister of Mercy. After working with prisoners for many years, she died in her nineties in a Mercy Convent in New York.

Rebecca, their youngest child, most like her mother in disposition, died in her mother's arms in Emmitsburg at the age of 14.
