ou can walk in the footsteps of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in several ways. One is religious life as a vowed member of the Sisters of Charity in which your life-long commitment is to service, prayer, and community life.
You can also live Elizabeth's legacy by becoming an Associate of the Sisters of Charity. Associates are lay women and men from a variety of backgrounds and personal experiences who seek prayerful relationships with each other and our community of Sisters.
Finally, you are welcome to get involved by supporting the upkeep and future expansion of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Online Museum with a contribution. Please contact Sr. Dominica Rocchio, SC. , or send a check or money order payable to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Museum, and mail to:

Becoming a Sister of Charity
A religious vocation is a unique way to deepen your relationship with God, while offering your individual talents in service to the poor, the sick, the troubled, and the uneducated. If you think God is calling you to religious life, consider the Sisters of Charity and our great tradition that began in 1809 with our foundress, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. We will welcome you in prayer and hospitality.

Who becomes a Sister of Charity?
Our candidates are women between the ages of 22 and 39 who are in relationship with the Catholic Church and aspire to live the gospel values of unconditional love and service.
A commitment to religious life is, of course, the result of prayer and truly knowing your deepest aspirations. As you take this journey, think about the life of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and her mission. You may find personal fulfillment as a Sister of Charity if you:
|
feel called to follow the teachings of Christ, |
 |
yearn for a deeper spiritual life, |
 |
wish to live in community, |
 |
are a risk taker on behalf of social justice, and |
 |
have the courage to shape the face of charity in its third century. |
